Well, book one of my saga is published and now Iโm working on book two.
The second book is titled Asi.
Itโs been an absolute blast getting it ready to publish this past week. I put probably twenty hours this week into tightening up the story, tweaking the plot, and making a slew of edits.
I kind of expected to feel a huge sense of relief, accomplishment, pride, even joy when I hit the publish button for the final chapters of book one. Instead I just felt flat, which struck me as kind of odd. I talked about it this a bit with my writerโs group QAWC.
Even after sharing the milestone with them I still didnโt feel any sense of accomplishment. I mean Iโm a self-published author of a book with two more in the pipeline. Thatโs kinda cool right?
This whole process was never intended to be a big deal for me though I guess. No agent, no signing deal, no hard cover copy to hold in my hand. Just simple, easy, and free for the world to enjoy (or not ๐คฃ).
Having an outlet for my art, for my self-expression has been profoundly therapeutic. Especially during this chaotic time in our countries history. There is so much greed, anger, hate, and ignorance running rampant through the halls of our government right now. Even all the way down to families, which are being splintered by divisive resentment. The later is something that I am all to familiar with, which makes me sad. I remember a time not so long ago when my family were normal moderates. Now many of them are radical extremists.
As the Buddhists like to say - everything is impermanent. Nothing stays the same forever.
On a side note Iโve been migrating an old blog titled Exploring and Pondering (E&P) from itโs old home to here, which is why you may have been seeing (and will see for another week or two) previously published articles shared here. An easy way to tell if a post an E&P post or something related to my saga is that if the post has watercolor images then itโs my saga. If itโs a stock photo than itโs something elseโฆ
The goal is to eventually have all my writing living here in Substack. I have way too many blogs up and running right now.
One for outdoor adventures of the fishing and skiing variety.
Another for my cycling.
Another for my philosophical musings
Another for my technical computer programing.
And finally this one for my writing โcareerโ.
Yea, I need to do some serious work making my online footprint a lot less spread out. Itโs too much work keeping it all afloat.
Anyways, Iโm getting distracted (something that my ADHD self LOVEs to do). If youโd like to check out Asi book two in the Saga you can do so here:
